This book provides a comprehensive exploration of the various functions of photo filters in the realm of social media. With its playful and user-friendly design, it's accessible to everyone, regardless of their level of technological expertise. It's a guide that even tech novices can easily grasp and enjoy.
The idea for the cover design took shape during a creative experiment with reflective paper. This unique material offered me the opportunity to mimic a real filter that playfully distorts the face.
Due to the urge to better understand the digital world, I wanted to create a publication that showcases the function of photo filters on social media. Therefore I created a design that was easy to follow and understand, covering most of the functions, and preparing the reader to enter this world of filters.
The publication ended up in a book of 46 pages. Only one copy was printed and glue binded by hand using a wooden press. To promote the publication we (school class) organized a bookfair where everybody was invited. For the bookfair I prepared an actual instagram photo filter to advertise the event. As the book speakes about photo filters made the perfect occasion to actually create one to promote the bookfair that showcased the book. The filter is hosted on my instagram page.
