This book is a journey of exploration and experimentation, highlighting a diverse collection of wax masks I crafted and infused with meaning through photo editing and ending up in publication.
During a class project I encountered the technique of casting and this gave me a lot of opportunities to experiment. Therefore I decided to use wax as a material for it's versatile nature. I used an object that has a powerful visual impact and I came across faces. And started by doing the mold of my own face.

I let a lot of room for experimentation during the creation of the masks using all kind of techniques to deform, paint, carve and compose the various masks. I worked for a month on it and ended up with a collection of 21 masks.
